Health and social care discussion forum launched

CRUCIAL issues relating to health and social care in Somerset can be discussed and debated on a new online forum – http://www.care-matters.org.uk/

Care Matters has been launched by Somerset charity Compass Disability Services. It aims to enable service users, people working in the sector or those who simply have an interest in health and social care to raise important topics, share information or debate issues.

Richard Pitman, Compass Disability Services’ CEO, believes Care Matters could play an important ‘agenda setting’ role.

He said: “We envisage that care-matters.org.uk will provide a central point for the discussion of health and social care issues in Somerset.

“This will help to meet the ever-increasing responsibility of public bodies to identify the concerns of its service users, employees and the wider market.

“We believe care-matters.org.uk could fundamentally change ‘the conversation’ relating to health and social care in Somerset and give service users and employees a stronger voice than ever.”

All you need to do is log on, set up an account and you will be able to join a discussion or start a thread.

In addition to the discussion forum, there is a dedicated area for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations working in health and social care.

This provides users with the opportunity to share best practice and access other resources, as well as discuss issues relevant to people working in the sector.

The first 1,000 people to sign up will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two luxury hampers worth £100 and £80 from theolivetreetaunton.co.uk
