Disability Somerset 2014

Disability Somerset, was the South West's only major independent living exhibition and it returned to the Sedgemoor Auction Centre on the 10th September 2014.

Disability Somerset was brought to you by the user led charity - Compass Disability Services. Time and time again our service users told us that they wanted information and so in 2011 we facilitated the first Disability Somerset Independent Living exhibition.

In it’s fourth year, Disability Somerset showcased a wealth of equipment, products and services that enable disabled people of all ages to live independently with an improved quality of life.

In the previous year, exhibits included the latest wheelchairs and scooters, equipment to support those living with a sensory loss, condition specific support services, education and training providers, daily living aids, local authority services and much much more.

2014 saw a new feature, The Vehicle Zone. This area was supported by Motability and we aimed to have a range of vehicle providers and vehicle adaptation companies present in this area on the day.

Unfortunately, due to ever increasing funding pressures (the exhibition normally ended up costing Compass Disability Services more funds than it generated) 2014 proved to be it's last year.
