Support & Fundraising

There are so many ways you can support Compass Disability Services and not all of them will cost you extra money e.g. using Easysearch as your search engine, Easyfundraising  to do your shopping or one of our recycling initiatives. Please click on our pictures for more information on how you can be an incredible help to us with our fundraising.

Below are a few statements that show you how your support will help us.

Denise cares for her husband Malcolm who was diagnosed with Dementia 5 years ago. £250 enables a Carers Support Worker to visit Denise and help her to arrange for someone she knows and trusts to sit with Malcolm whilst Denise takes a few hours off each week to sing with her local choir, which helps Denise recharge her batteries and take some time out for herself.

Paul uses a walking frame and is fed up with the lack of seating and loads of pavement clutter in his local town. £1000 enables Compass Disability services to host a disability forum in John’s area twice a year and transport Paul there, where he and other like-minded people get a chance to tell the local Town Centre Manager their concerns and work together to bring about the changes that are needed to make local facilities accessible for all.

Angela, who has Cerebral Palsy wants to choose who comes to her house each morning to help her get out of bed, take a shower and get dressed ready to face the day. Angela is funded by the council to do this, but where does she start? £500 allows an Independent Living Advisor to visit Angela and help her budget how much she can afford to pay a Personal Assistant, write a job description, interview potential candidates and provide payroll support to enable Angela to pay her new employee.
