CORPORATE DONATIONS

MAKING A WILL:

Once you have ensured that proper provision has been made for your loved ones, you may then want to consider using your will to improve the quality of life for disabled people by leaving a legacy to Compass Disability Services. Even a small amount can significantly benefit the people that we work with.

It is important that our full name, address and charity number is used in full.  Where abbreviations are used, a bequest can be deemed doubtful if contested at a later stage and may require direction from the Treasury Solicitor, which may involve the Executors of the Will and cause additional trouble and possible expense.

Compass Disability Services recommends that you seek independent legal advice if you have any concerns relating to your will.

We would suggest the following wording be used to ensure your wishes are accurately followed:

I give **% of the residue of my real and personal estate which I can dispose of by Will in any manner I think proper to Compass Disability Services (Registered Charity No: 1099376) of Unit 11-12 Belvedere Trading Estate, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1BH and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or the proper officer for the time being of Compass Disability Services shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.

or

I give the sum of £** pounds to Compass Disability Services (Registered No: 1099376) of Unit 11-12 Belvedere Trading Estate, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1BH and the receipt of the Honorary Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of Compass Disability Services shall be a complete discharge to my Executors.

IN MEMORIAM DONATIONS:

When someone close to you dies, you may want to consider asking, that instead of sending flowers, donations be made in their memory to Compass Disability Services.

By remembering a loved one in this way you are ensuring that their memory will live on through improved quality of life for many disabled people now and in the future. Please click on the picture for advice on how you can easily make your wishes known to your loved ones.

If you wish Compass Disability Services to receive “In Memory” donations when you die, it may be helpful to inform your executor, using the wording supplied here, to keep with your Will. Do not attach anything to your will as this may invalidate it.

Suggested wording:

TO MY EXECUTOR

I wish that, instead of flowers being sent to my funeral, donations be sent to Compass Disability Services, of Unit 11-12 Belvedere trading Estate, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 1BH. Registered Charity Number 1099376.
